The Dynamics of Building the Healthcare Talent Pipeline
The purpose of South Carolina’s Talent Pipeline efforts are to develop and sustain a skilled talent pipeline that meets the current and future needs of business and industry, using a sector strategies framework.

Phase I A State Leadership Team was formed in The leadership team is co-chaired by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, Departments of Commerce, Employment & Workforce, State Education and State Technical College System. A collaborative data subcommittee was also formed to collect and evaluate data pertinent to the identification of planning regions and state-level target industries. Four regions were formed: Central Region, Pee Dee Region, South Coast Region and Upstate Region The data analysis conducted in Phase I identified five high-demand, high-growth sectors, and corresponding occupations. Those sectors are: Healthcare Diversified Manufacturing Business and Information Technology Construction Transportation and Logistics Upstate Pee Dee Central South Coast

State workforce supply gap analysis Initial asset map of federal and state resources for employment and training Partnerships were forged with Trade Association that represent each of the high demand growth sectors Regional planning teams were organized and partnerships were forged with economic development, education and business and industry Regional workforce supply gap analysis
