2 Nature of Science Quiz Your task today is to work with your “Rosalind Franklin Science Buddy” to come up with seven potential multiple-choice questions for next week’s test. Using the guidelines below, write one question with four possible answer choices for each category. Circle the correct answer. When you and your partner have finished writing all seven questions, bring them to Ms. Edgington (who will compile them into a clicker quiz).

Policies and procedures in the classroom What is science/What is a scientist? Vocabulary terms (law, theory, hypothesis, observation, inference, quantitative observation, qualitative observation) Three branches of science Steps of the scientific method Experimental design Communicating experimental results to the scientific community

4 Example 1: Which of the following statements is a fact?
Purple Banana Rap music Many American families have dogs as pets.

5 Example 2: Which of the following statements is a fact?
Most girls are better students than boys. Rap music is not good for students. Dogs make better pets than cats. Many American families have dogs as pets.

6 CHAMPs C: 1 ½ H: ask your partner!
A: write all seven questions each with four answer choices and the correct answer circled M: 0 (ask for and obtain permission) P: both partners sharing the work, one person recording, using notebooks for reference

7 Ender Revisit today’s “I can” statement.
Gauge your comfort with the learning target. Use the lines underneath to explain whether you thought developing quiz questions and answers was easy/hard/enjoyable/frustrating and WHY.
