1 Early Alerts and Symplicity Overview
Hello everyone! Today we are going to provide you with a quick overview of the Symplicity system highlighting the features of each module with special attention on the Early Alert System. Symplicity provides workflow solutions for entering and tracking Early Alerts, managing accommodation requests, and managing many other functions to enhance the student experience. Symplicity modules include Advocate, Insight, Accommodate, Community, and CSM.

2 myFSCJ Faculty Access Faculty can access the Symplicity modules from the faculty tab within myFSCJ. You can go directly to the Early Alert Report from this screen, but if you do, you have to know your student’s Student ID. Its easier use the Insight Log In link instead, because you are able to go directly to your class and select the student that you want to submit the Early Alert for. We also have other types of reports that you can submit using the Report It link. These include Students of Concern reports, Title IX reports, Student Conduct reports, etc. We’ll talk more about those other reports a little later.

3 FSCJ faculty, staff, and students play a part in promoting the safety and well-being of our community. This document provides a single collecting point for links to the report or request as described in the following boxes. Please click on the link under the report or request you would like to submit. This form will be located in myFSCJ under quicklinks for quick access to centralized reporting and available to all FSCJ staff, faculty and students. Each report type has been built with customized skip logic and form dependencies to create a intuitive reporting mechanism for our community.

4 Student Conduct Report
An individual can submit a Conduct Incident Report when a student has demonstrated an act or behavior that impairs, interferes with, or otherwise disturbs or obstructs the orderly functions, and/or interests of the entire FSCJ community. These reports are routed to the Conduct Office led by Dean Pamela Walker Students of Concern Reports can be submitted for: Non-Academic/Life Situation Medical Concern Mental Health Issue Physical/Psychological Endangerment Title IX Reports can be submitted for Gender Discrimination Sexual Harassment Sexual Assault Relationship Violence Stalking Sexual Exploitation Retaliation

5 Student Conduct Report Student of Concern Title IX Report
Routed to Dean of Students Managed by Conduct Office Student of Concern Routed to Student Support Services Case Managed by Student Support Coordinators Title IX Report Routed to Title IX Office Managed by Title IX Coordinator When a student conduct, student of concern, or Title IX report is submitted, Advocate will route the report to the appropriate team for review, processing and case management. Custom workflows are built into the system to allow staff to work a report from start to finish.

6 Student Conduct Report
The Conduct Incident Report Manager provides: Clear workflow processes for resolving conduct concerns Seamless communication between staff members and students Data to detect and address conduct trends and patterns An individual can submit a Conduct Incident Report when a student has demonstrated an act or behavior that impairs, interferes with, or otherwise disturbs or obstructs the orderly functions, and/or interests of the entire FSCJ community. 7 Students of Concern (CARE) Report
Reports can be submitted for: Non-Academic/Life Situation Medical Concern Mental Health Issue Physical/Psychological Endangerment When a Students of Concern report is submitted, it is routed to the Student Support Services team.

9 Title IX Reports The Title IX Manager provides unique workflow options to help track, process, and respond to Title IX related issues and complaints.

11 Accommodate is a case management software that automates and centralizes the accommodation request process. Student begin this request process by completing an accommodation request.

12 Lifecycle of an Accommodation Request
Notification Sent Request Decision Made Request Received and Processed Student Requests Services Once the student submits a request, Student Support Coordinators will review and process this request and assign appropriate academic accommodations. When a decision is made, Accommodate automatically alerts the student, their faculty, and any other departments involved in the delivery of the accomodations.

16 Community Student View
Community facilitates and encourages a student’s engagement with FSCJ’s student organizations. Key features of Community include involvement tracking, a portal for advisors to manage their organization and events, a centralized platform for students to search for organizations of interest, and a co-curricular transcript.
