Requirements? 35, live in the US for 14 years, natural born citizen Term Length? 4 years; limited to two terms (22nd amendment) Almost 20% became president because they were VP and president could NOT fulfill their term 25th Amendment: Selection for VP if there is a vacancy - both houses of Congress must approve - Gerald Ford in 1970s Lame-duck period: Period between the election of a new president and inauguration President Obama was considered a lame duck between November 9, 2016 and January 20, 2017 Usually harder for the president to influence policy with Congress
