23 2019- 2020 Program of Studies will be available on rtsd.org

24 Course Selection Timeline
Elective Choices Students should review the Program of Studies, talk with teachers, parents, counselors, and classmates to help select electives and alternate choices. Students will be responsible for uploading these choices into HAC from February 19th – 22nd Be mindful of prerequisites and graduation requirements. Prerequisites and graduation requirements are both listed in the Program of Studies.

25 Course Selection Timeline
Counselor Meetings After students have selected electives, counselors will meet with all students during a two-week window (February 27th – March 12th) to review all courses selected.  These meetings occur in Social Studies classes, and counselors will be out of their offices those two weeks. We will review with students the following criteria:  Total number of credits Leveling of classes Elective choices Overall balance of selections Graduation requirements Connection between courses and post-secondary plans/goals

26 Course Selection Timeline
Course Changes After the window for students closes, all course changes must be submitted to the counselor. Core course changes require an override form. English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language Elective changes do not require an override form. Students can make changes to their schedule anytime on or before May 15th, 2019.  After May 15th, no changes will be allowed until schedules are released in August. NEW THIS YEAR: Once schedules are released to students on or around August 15th, students can request changes until September 3rd.  Change requests aren't guaranteed, as they will be dependent on availability of seats in classes and the ability to fit requested courses in the student's schedule.  Teacher preference changes will not be honored.

27 Course Selection Timeline What your child should be doing now
