Electrons move around the nucleus in energy levels (orbits)

Each electron in an atom has an energy level where it should be located – its ground state.

If an electron absorbs enough energy (quantum), it can jump to a higher energy level –its excited state.

The electron will immediately fall back to its ground state releasing the energy….

The energy released will have a wavelength (type and color of light) determined by the quantum absorbed (the jump).

Each element will produce a different set of colors of light (spectrum) when energized….

Bohr’s equations only worked completely for Hydrogen

Why?...... A more complicated model was needed….
