2 Key Findings – Mexico The nature of online risk types: The types of risks that stood out for Mexico compared to the global averages included: 1) receiving offensive or obscene content, 2) encountering internet hoaxes and 3) encountering fake news Our social circles became more risky: Within Mexico, risks from family and friends also increased significantly to 44%; this percentage is noticeably higher than the global average The pain from online risks was significant: Within Mexico, moderate to severe pain was experienced by 59% of consumers, 4 percentage points above the global average Consequences were up; positive actions were down: Mexico showed drops in positive actions taken following online risk exposure, and were less likely to defend someone online who was treated poorly Millennials and teenage girls were hit hardest by risks: Millennials in Mexico suffered higher levels of moderate to severe pain compared to their global peers (67% vs. 60%) There was a surge in teens asking for help. Of the 22 countries surveyed, Mexico had the biggest increase (+50 points) of teens asking a parent for help with an online risk Small improvement in DCI: Mexico (-2) registered a small gain in DCI and ranks #12 out of the 22 countries surveyed

8 More teens asked for help with online risks
Worldwide, there was a surge in teenagers asking for help with online risks from both parents (+32 points to 42%) and adults (+19 points to 28%) In Mexico, teens were notably above the global average in asking for help from parents (55% vs 42%) and in seeking help from another adult (35% vs. 28%) Of all 22 countries surveyed, Mexico had the greatest increase (+50 points) in teens asking a parent for help with an online issue Asking parents for help jumped 50 points Asking another adult for help rose 29 points Q12: Have you ever taken any of the following actions after you were treated in an unsafe or uncivil manner online?
