2. The Sons of Liberty
Sons of Liberty = colonists called Patriots, who acted against the British taxes
Goals = to show that they didn’t want taxes and to stop British taxes.

3. Committees of Correspondence
They were a group of people who wrote letters telling each other about the events that took place in their colonies.

4. Tea Act of 1773
Tea was taxed to pay the war debt from the French & Indian war and to keep the soldiers in Boston to “protect” the colonists.

5. Tea Boycotts
The Patriots stopped buying the British tea because they thought that the taxes were unreasonable.

6. The Events of the Boston Tea Party
The British spent too much money on the French and Indian War so they put a tax on tea. Then the Sons of Liberty dressed up like Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.

7. People that were involved
Samuel Adams, John Hancock , Sons of Liberty, Daughters of Liberty, Paul Revere, John Adams, and Josiah Quincy were all involved in the Boston Tea Party.

8. Why Did the people have this “Tea ‘Party’”
The colonists didn’t want the taxes on the British tea and the British kept sending the tea anyway, even though the colonists boycotted it.

9. Extra Facts:
Afterward – We received our punishment for the Boston Tea Party, which was the Corecive Acts or the Intolerable Acts.
