Lunar Calibration Workshop

Wrap-up Great level of interest = 13 agencies represented (GSICS, CEOS-IVOS, Ocean Colour community) 20 people on site + 6 remote attendees over 4 days A lot of interactions and discussions Run some sensitivity analysis tests and started to discuss some preliminary results Identified some critical aspects such as the oversampling factor estimation and the dark signal estimation (that could “create” a phase dependency or amplify it). GIRO is reliable. Still some aspects to understand (see recommendations) We have a starting point for performing sensitivity analysis and working on the uncertainty budget GIRO_PERT needs some upgrade but there is a general interest in using the tool
3
Achievements to date GIRO application (fourth release) delivered
GIRO PERT application for sensitivity analysis Lunar Calibration dedicated web page on the GSICS Research and Development Wiki Starting building up the GSICS Lunar Calibration Database Many interactions with the participants in the SRFs and input data preparations this effort was essential to get teams ready but also to improve the GIRO thanks to the broad range of instruments that are processed
4
Next obvious iteration = GSICS annual meeting
Minutes / summary of the workshop to be communicated to CEOS-IVOS + people who showed interest Is there an interest for another workshop? If yes, when and where?
