Aim: How are ecosystems organized?
Scientists need an organized way to describe different levels of living things in an ecosystem.
2
At the lowest level Level 1. Organism For Example 1 moose
An individual living thing that is made of cells, uses energy, reproduces, responds, grows, and develops For Example 1 moose
3
Level 2: Population a group of organisms, all of the same species, which interbreed and live in the same area at the same time; competition occurs For example - All the moose in this location

Level 3: Community All the populations of different species that live in the same place at the same time. Note: not including water, air, oxygen For example: All the moose interacting with all the wolves, rabbits, owls, hawks, etc. copyright cmassengale
5
Level 4: Ecosystem All the different populations interacting with the non-living factors. For example: All the moose ,wolves, rabbits, owls, hawks, etc. interacting with the water, soil, air, etc.
6
Level 5: Biome A large region of land with similar climate.
For example Rainforest biome Desert biome Tundra biome
