Title I Information Our school participates in a federal program, under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) law, referred to as Title I, Part A. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) was re- authorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in December ESSA replaced NCLB and differs from it by giving states more flexibility to use accountability systems that reflect local values and goals. The US Department of Education approved California’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) state accountability plan on July 12, California’s accountability system is focused on improving classroom learning for all students and especially those that need extra help in achieving success.

Single Plan for Student Achievement
School Site Council members, school staff, community stakeholders, students, and parents collaborate to develop, approve, monitor, review, and evaluate the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). Operating under a school-wide program allows schools to expend Title I funds in order to improve the instructional program for all students, with a specific focus on the underachieving students based on a comprehensive needs assessment. Parent advisory groups will continuously monitor the implementation of the plan and budgeted proposed expenditures.
