Club Charter Mat Club is a member of MN/USA Wrestling
$45.00 of registration fee covers MN/USA membership Covers insurance for the club, facilities, and kids Card is needed for all MN/USA qualifying tournament and state tournament See website for information on printing card membership-information

Key Dates and information
Picture Night is Nov. 29th Shakopee Home youth tournament January 26th 2019 2 hours of volunteer hours required at our home tournament (sign up via website under “Dibs” tab will be live in late December) Financial assistance (please see a board member for information)

First Night of Practice
Registration must be completed online prior to 1st practice Must notify board member & return equipment by Dec. 10th in order to receive refund & deposit checks Must bring 2 checks to first night of practice $50 Deposit - Equipment Singlet (provided by Mat Club) Headgear (provided by Mat Club) $100 deposit - volunteer check Shoes (not provided) swap opportunities available at first couple practices. Accepting donations of old shoes.

Maolu Woiwor, Zach Skattum & Sam Hall Pre-K – K starts Monday Nov 12th 6:15-7:00 pm Mondays (PreK-K) 7:00-8:00 pm Mondays 1-2nd grade 6:15-7 pm Thurs Team Tech Positions Andy Pond, Mark Neu, & Isaiah Eide 3rd - 5th grade (experienced 2nd graders – TBD by coaches) Starts Tuesday Nov 13th 6:30-8 pm Tuesdays 7-8 pm Thurs

Practice Guidelines Practice gear:
Shorts T-shirt Wrestling shoes preferred, clean tennis shoes ok Parents can be present for PreK – 2nd grade Looking for team techs – the more help the smoother practices run Help maintain discipline Coaches want to coach! Limit talking in the room Coaches may ask parents to leave if being distracting 3rd-5th grade practices – parents will be asked to stay out of room

Tournament Information
We’ve all been there! Opportunities every weekend, not mandatory Club has “coach attended” tourneys (check website calendar and Facebook for weekly updates) Ask for a coach prior to your wrestler’s match Tournament uniform – Mat Club t-shirt, singlet, headgear, shoes, personal preference items (mouth guard, knee pads, etc.) Keep wet wipes in your wrestler’s backpack Rule of thumb for # of tournaments – match your child’s age Get to know your coaches & team techs. We will help talk through tournaments & who’s attending Ask other parents about tournaments & who’s attending

Types of regular season tournaments: MN/USA Qualifiers - more competitive Open tournaments Team tournament Qualifiers “qualify” your child for entrance to the state tournament based on points (25 pts needed) (1) 1st place finish is 40 points – qualifies for state (1) 2nd place finish is 25 points – qualifies for state (1) 3rd place finish is 10 points – need 3
