May 18-22, 2015 Hello GREAT kindergarten families! Our time together is winding down as culmination is quickly approaching! Please continue to work with your child on ALL the skills we have learned thus far, in an effort to further prepare them for this milestone in their lives. Also, please work with them nightly on the poems/song in preparation for the culmination exercise. Please continue to work with your scholar on all high frequency words daily! Field Day is swiftly approaching! We are looking for 100% PARTICIPATION from our KINDER SCHOLARS! ORDER YOUR FIELD DAY T-SHIRTS TODAY! They are ONLY $5 AND they are BEAUTIFUL! Please work with your child on the writing prompts that go home every Friday. Writing is a huge component to literacy, and this time writing together at home will make a huge difference in your child’s ability to write effectively. This prompt also prepares them for the next week’s discussion in Language Arts. Please ensure your child is reading each night. Let’s get ready for first grade! Week of May 18-22, 2015 Home Study Sheet Parents, Below is a list of the homework you can expect to see for your child this week. Please make sure you support your child to complete ALL of their homework every night. In addition to homework listed below, continue practicing ALL high frequency words. High frequency words are words we see often in print. Many of these words cannot be sounded out, so kindergarteners will memorize how to read and spell them. Please review them nightly with your child, as this is a very important component of our curriculum. Students will be assessed on these words and rewarded with a raindrop on our Kindergarten Rainbow once they master a group of words. Congratulations to those that have received their Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, white, brown, black, and pink raindrops!!!!!
