Salvador Dalí was born in 1904, in the Figueras, in the north of Catalonia. Salvador Dalí became famous all over the world as a Surrealist painter. He is famous because of his innovative kind of painting, wich was specially focused on colours and simbolism of some objects. One example is the importance of some everyday items, like eggs.

Pau Casals was the greatest chello player of the 20th century. He was famous internationally as one of the better performers of his times. He revived the music love for the chello, which was not very important at that time. Pau Casals was always a defender of peace, specially at the United Nations, which characterized him clearly as peace man.

Pau Gasol was born in Barcelona, in 1980, at the age of only 21, he was the first catalan player of the NBA history. He's nowadays playing at Los Angeles Lakers, and he has won the award of Rookie of the Year,the MVP of FIBA World Championship and Eurobasket, in 2006 and 2009.

Antoni Gaudí was the best Catalan architect of all the times, and the better example of Catalan Modernism. Gaudí was an architect with an awesome knowledge of geometry and a powerful imagination. This helped him to plan their buildings before drawing. He was also inspired by nature, as we see in his famous works, like Sagrada Familia, Casa Milà, Parc Güell or Casa Batlló.

Ferran Adrià is a Catalan chef born in 1962 in the Catalan town of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. He is the head chef of El Bulli restaurant in Roses on the Costa Brava, wich has received some distinctions, and is considered one of the best chefs in the world.

Montserrat Caballé is a Catalan operatic soprano who was born in 1962. She is very famous because she has very good skills. She sang a wide variety of roles, but she is best known as an exponent of the bel canto (In italian "beautiful singing") repertoire.

Josep Guardiola AKA Pep is a Catalan football manager. In the past, he played as defensive midfielder with FC Barcelona. He won the first Barcelona's European Cup with "dream team", managed by Johan Cruyff's. He is considered one of the world's best football managers, not only for his wins, also for his football philosophy.

Joan Miró is a Catalan painter. He was born in Barcelona in 1893. His paintings belogn to a important legacy included int he most original of the 20th century. His work would be marked with a surrealist tendency, where imaginative fantasy were to take priority. He died in Palma de Mallorca in 1983.
