4. Long and complex route for the diagnosis
Censis 2012:
80% of cases are identified by their mothers (particularly in the second year of life ,41%)
45% of households have waited between 1 and 3 years for the diagnosis, 13% over 3 years
On average 3 specialists should be consulted to obtain a definitive diagnosis
About 30% following a pharmacological therapy (there are no specific medicines)
Among adolescents and adults, 30% do not make any type of therapy (psychological, educational, social)

Mini apartments equipped with advanced technology solutions that will accommodate children and their parents for a short period (2-3 weeks) during which young patients will be clinically characterized and sent to a rehabilitation program while their parents will be trained in the new role of co-therapists that they will perform at home.
