ESSENTIAL UNITY Each Cooperative Venture has two or three national Church Partners – all the time! Each Partner takes on role of Convening meetings of Partners – for a 3 year term Successive changes will take place on 1st July 2019, 2022, 2025 etc. Responsibility for convening tasks is with regional bodies – Presbytery/Synod/Diocese Responsibility for church reviews may be delegated to the Regional Forum (as in Auckland)

CONVENING PARTNER Former “Coordinating” role split between Convening Partner 1. Takes responsibility for the partnership 2. Involves the Regional Forum where appropriate 3. Rotates every three years 4. Ensures local church is reviewed at least every five years (or three years in the case of Local Shared Ministry) 5. If a Local Shared Ministry is considered to be best for the local church, initiates the process to appoint local ministers in cooperation with the Participating Partners 6. Handles complaints – apart from discipline of ministers, which is the responsibility of the minister’s church of membership 7. Collects assessment or quota, from 1 July 2019 8. Where there is no expectation of settling stipendiary ministry, provides a focus of oversight

As with former “Coordinating” role Appointing Partner 1. Takes responsibility for overseeing the process of a stipendiary ministry appointment 2. Ensures that an induction service involves all Partners of the Cooperative Venture, that a Code of Ethics and Letter of Appointment are signed, and that the UCANZ Office is notified 3. Takes care to identify ministers who are committed to the ecumenical nature of CVs 4. Continues in role until the conclusion of the particular ministry appointment 5. Carries out ministry reviews
