State of Texas Legislative Priority for Education
“Without bold action, Texas faces a future of diminished incomes, opportunities and resources.” It is estimated that by the year percent of jobs will require a certificate, associates or degree. How’s it going for Texas? Today, only 42 percent of young Texans between the ages of 25 and 34 have an associate degree or higher.

As a result the gov working with 3 state agencies came up with a plan.

By 2030, 60 percent or more of all new jobs will require some level of higher education. Today, only 42 percent of young Texans between the ages of 25 and 34 have an associate degree or higher. By 2030, 60 percent of students should complete one year of college without remediation. PEIMS 60X30TX plan addresses the issues mentioned on the previous slides.

HB22 PEIMS Connection How does that relate to us. HB22 Domain 1 collects that data needed for the 60X30TX plan. TEA will collect the data on the Leavers you are reporting. Reminders: 2. Cp classes coded correctly on Master Schedule is there a course offering for Read/Math? 3. Dual classes setup correctly w/ dual flag and college credit hours/ verify students are coded 4. Associates Flag set on students 7. Students with certs should have the 1-3 Post Secondary Licensure coded 8. Insure the graduation type is the correct on students participating in the program (04,05,54,55) 9. 1)Work with CTE personnel to verify code 2 on graduates. 2) Ensure they took the certification class service id IXXXXXX, NXXXXXX 11. Make sure students are coded and you have proper documentation.
