The prairie grasses keep our water clean. Their tops filter rain runoff, and their roots grip the soil, preventing erosion.

4 Prairie plants clean our air:
They remove CO2 from the air and store it in the soil.

5 Prairie plants provide habitat for pollinators –
who help farmers grow the food we eat

6 Prairies provide wildlife habitat
- a home – for countless other species

7 The Flint Hills tallgrass prairie grows 300 million pounds of beef a year for people to eat

8 Prairie provides places for fun outdoor activities - to improve our physical and mental health!
