Information with regards to scholarships and financial planning is constantly changing. Saunders does the best job we can to provide as current as information as possible to our students through presentations from guest speakers and through the use of current websites. However, it is the responsibility of each student to investigate current and future scholarship /financial opportunities.

3 What is a BUSARY? A bursary is very similar to a scholarship but usually recognizes proven financial need. Often bursaries are applied for after you are accepted to a specific school. Check the Financial Aid Office of the educational institution to which you are applying.

4 What is a Scholarship/ award?
A scholarship is an award of money that a student receives to help cover the cost of post-secondary education. It can be based on factors such as community service, outstanding leadership, marks, etc.

15 TWO TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS:
Application Required: Often one nominee per school Must inform Mrs. Bruff of interest in being nominated AT LEAST 1 MONTH PRIOR TO DEADLINE DATE in order to be considered Include a written description of why you meet the criteria

Based on admission marks Granted automatically with your offer of admission

23 Websites: Application: Do I meet the criteria? Resume: Include ALL activities, employment, volunteer work, awards, certificates, interests, accomplishments and experience.
