Shutter Speed & DSLR PHOTOGRAPHY
3
Shutter speed is ‘the amount of time that the shutter is open’.
Shutter speed exists because of something known as your camera shutter – which, simply put, is a curtain in front of the camera sensor that stays closed until the camera fires, Shutter speed is measured in seconds – or in most cases fractions of seconds, If you’re using a slow shutter speed (anything slower than 1/60) you will need to either use a tripod, Shutter speed is responsible for two particular things: changing the brightness of your photo, creating dramatic effects by either freezing action or blurring motion.
