My ‘‘overpriced’’ receipt from Chick fil a
Kids meal = 3.99 8 count nugget meal = 5.79 Water = 0.04 Chicken sandwich = 6.39 All equals $16.21 without tax of course as my subtotal price.
3
Now the math to find out my full cost
I gave them a 15% gratuity and you multiply $16.21 and $0.15 and you get $2.43 we need to find sales tax now Multiply $16.21 and $.0825 You should get an answer of $1.33 then add that to $2.43 you should get an answer of $3.76 then add that to $16.21 you should get an answer of $19.97 that is your total cost
4
The three observations I made
That you use this in your everyday life. Use %s in businesses and cooking etc. Sales tax increases the cost of the regular product with out it, it would be much cheaper.
5
Formulas I used I used a percent equation to solve this a=pxb Sales tax= $16.21x.15=$2.43 Tip+ $16.21x $1.33 Total cost= $16.21x$3.76=$19.97
