2 How Good Is Your Time Management?
Take the Quiz at: Score Comment 15-30 Ouch. The good news is that you've got a great opportunity to improve your effectiveness at work, and your long term success! However, to realize this, you've got to fundamentally improve your time management skills. 31-45 You're good at some things, but there's room for improvement elsewhere. 46-75 You're managing your time very effectively!

4 Goal Setting When you know where you are going, you can figure out what needs to be done Without goal setting you will have conflicting priorities Goal setting requires time and effort It saves time and frustration in the long run

5 Prioritization You can work very hard, but won’t achieve the results you desire due to lack of prioritizing A To-Do list is just a collection of things that need to be done Make to-do lists in order of importance or highest value first

6 Managing Interruptions
Interruptions may include: phone calls, information requests, questions from employees/friends, and other unexpected tasks. Some interruptions you must deal with immediately, but others you need to learn to manage.

7 Procrastination “I’ll get to it later.”
Procrastination is as tempting as it is deadly The first step is admitting that you procrastinate, then figure out why Are you afraid of failing? Are you afraid of success? Reward yourself for getting jobs done!

8 Scheduling Once you know your goals and priorities, you need a schedule that will keep you on track A schedule will protect you from stress Schedule your tasks, but leave room for interruptions A schedule should reflect your priorities as well as support your personal goals

9 Key Points Time management is a skill
We can not get extra time in our day, so we must work smarter and create schedules that reflect our work and personal priorities
