The boundary that separates the interior of a living cell from its surroundings Regulates traffic into and out of the cell, allowing only certain substances to pass (selectively permeable) Made mostly of proteins and lipids (phospholipids) Referred to as a phospholipid bilayer

Phospholipid Bilayer Has 2 parts: Head Tail One Two Phosphate Lipid
Hydrophilic – attracted to water Hydrophobic – not attracted to water Negatively charged Positively charged
