2. What are inferential questions?
We will not find the answers to inferential questions directly in the text.
We need to become detectives and use clues to try and find the answer. We can also use our background knowledge to help us answer the question.
Handy hint! Very often, inferential
questions contain the word “you”.

How are they feeling? How can you tell?

What do you think might be in the character’s hand?

5. Moana How would you describe the characters’ personalities?
What makes you think this?

How would you feel if you opened your window to see this figure? Why?
What do you think the BFG is holding and what is its purpose?

8. Zootopia What do you think the characters are trying to do?
Which character do you think is more dominant and why?

9. Toy Story How are the different characters reacting to Buzz?
How is Buzz different to the other characters?

How is the main character feeling? What clues tell you this?
