1 Newton’s Laws of Motion
Y10 AADP

2 An object will remain at rest unless acted upon by an external force.
An object in motion will remain in motion and travel in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force. Newton’s 1st Law

3 Newton’s 2nd Law SO The greater the force the greater the acceleration
When an object is acted upon by a force its change in momentum/acceleration is proportional to the force and mass applied. Also the object will travel in the direction that the force is applied. SO The greater the force the greater the acceleration The smaller the mass the greater the acceleration. Newton’s 2nd Law

4 A slow moving truck or train has great momentum because of is size.
While a small object relies on its velocity for momentum Which will have more acceleration? If hit with exactly the same force. Tennis ball Football Golf ball Why? Consider this

5 For every action there is a equal and opposite reaction.
A force acting anywhere always has an equal force acting in the opposite direction E.g. Running Basketball Bench press Squat Newton’s 3rd Law
