Demmer Library Mission Statement
The Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library is a center of community life in Three Lakes and provides residents of all ages ample opportunities for personal growth and recreation. The library is a dependable source of reliable information and guidance in locating and evaluating the information people need to be successful in all aspects of their lives.

Future Needs Demmer Library Building Committee (DLBC) was convened to assess the future needs of the Library. Current Situation Assessment has been completed for all space needs and ADA concerns and maintenance issues Available to public as reference material at library Assessment includes multiple options: renovation current space only, new library building (on another site), building for current needs, building for 2030 (future) needs

Considerations Goal – meet needs of community out to year 2030
Role of libraries is changing: less a repository of print material, more focused on being a community and resource center. What are our opportunities for shared: Entrance(s) Mechanical Break room Public bathrooms Opportunity for use of 4,791 sq ft in lower level for shared secured storage for Library, Town and Historical Society

Considerations Maintain use of original Demmer building structure and footprint (not entire current library space) Goal: consider energy efficiency/sustainability Use of natural lighting Access to outdoor green space Layout to accommodate maintenance/minor adjustment of current staffing levels. Ability to monitor public occupied areas without extra staff or electronic systems
