2. CONDEMNATION OF WORLDLINESS teaches that:
Friendship with the World Destroys Our Fellowship with God
4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? (James 4:4)

3. 5 For your Maker is your husband—the Lord Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. (Isa 54:5)

4. 4 …Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. (James 4:4)

5. 2. Friendship with the World Denies Our Faith in God’s Word 
5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely? (James 4:5)

6. 4 “You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, (Ex 20:4-5)

7. 14 Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. (Ex 34:14)
15 for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God… (Deut 6:15)

8. THE CURE FOR WORLDLINESS
6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

8 purify your hearts, you double- minded. (James 4:8)

13. Grace Principle Number Six: React to Sin with Sorrow
9 Grieve, mourn and wail. (James 4:8)

14. Grace Principle Number Seven: Refrain from a Frivolous Attitude toward Evil
9 Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. (James 4:8)

15. Grace Principle Number Eight: Respond Humbly to Success
10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)

16. Grace Principle Number Nine: Refuse to Slander Your Brother
11 Brothers, do not slander one another. James 4:11)
