7. Why study law?
There are many reasons why people choose to study law, including:
the intellectual challenge and stimulation;
working to uphold the law and improve our legal system;
learning how to help others and achieve social justice; and
being better placed to make a genuine difference.

8. Why study law? For many students, it’s all about getting a good job.
A law graduate can choose to practice law as:
a solicitor, working for a law firm or self-employed;
a barrister, self-employed;
an ‘in house’ corporate lawyer; or
a government lawyer.
A law degree is also extremely useful for careers in accounting, foreign affairs, industrial relations, management, politics, journalism and many others.

19. SNAPSHOT
The Faculty first opened in May We will celebrate our 30th anniversary in 2019.
With nearly 110 law teachers and only 900 students we have one of the lowest student / staff ratios in Australia.
The Faculty of Law cohort is approximately 54% female and 46% male, although this varies from year to year.
The Faculty has close to a 50/50 split between domestic and international students. Most of our international students come from Canada, with many students from China, Malaysia, France, and Germany.
According to the national surveys published on the QILT website, Bond University is ranked number one in Australia for quality of teaching and the overall student experience.
