1. Naviance & the College Application Process
In addition to using Naviance to search for colleges, scholarships, and careers
Students will be able to request letters of recommendation, transcripts, and additional forms through Naviance

You will still be required to apply to colleges on specific sites such as:

Or apply online with site specific applications

Are you doing Early Decision? (Under “My Colleges>Questions” on Common App) Both your parents and your counselor need to sign off on that!

6. How to use Naviance during the college application process
1. Research colleges and add them to “colleges I’m thinking about”
2. Once you have narrowed down your list, you can move all schools from “colleges I’m thinking about” to “colleges I’m applying to”

7. Example of Colleges I’m Applying To page
1. Request transcripts before you have submitted your applications. Do not request it for CSUs or UCs unless the school requests it from you.
2. Request at least 2 letters of recommendation from teachers for privates. You can also send a short message to teachers letting them know when you need the letters by.
3. Guidance advisors are required to write letters of recommendation, too. You must meet with us at least three weeks before you submit your applications.

Update all your information! This is what will appear on your Common App forms.
