To know what indirect and direct speech is.
Direct speech is a form of sentences which use to reporting something that’s being said now. Direct speech also use to talk each other. For example: She said, “I like school” She said, “I am studying French” They said, “We took some photos.” They said, “We were swimming at 10am.” He says, “I have eaten breakfast.” He asked me, “Why do you love me?” She tells me, “Don’t let me alone!” Indirect Speech; Direct Speech; Topic Sentence(s); Concluding Sentence(s); Supporting Details; Fact; Opinion

Reported speech also called indirect speech. Reported speech is usually used to talk about something was said in the past, so we normally change the tense of the words spoken. But reported speech not only use to talk about something was said in the past, sometimes reported speech also use to talk about something was said in that moment. The situation change if there is the word in verb 2 (said, told, asked, reported, ETC) in front of the sentence. Example: direct speech -> he told her, “I’m hungry.” reported speech -> he told her that he was hungry. EXERCISE Direct speech: The policeman told the man, “Please follow me to the police station.” Reported speech: The policeman told the man to follow him to the police station. He asked, “Can you buy me a copy of the newspaper now?” Reportde speech: He asked if I could buy him a copy of the newspaper then. John said, “Sam and Max are going to the theater tonight.” John said that Sam and Max were going to the theater that night. .
