As one of our assignments we watched a video on Typhoid Mary that illustrated the plight of one woman who was caught up in a paradigm shift or health transition. Do you think that the use of this video was an effective way for you to learn about Emerging Diseases material? I think that this was an effective way to learn
because it uses real-life examples. One example of this is Mary giving typhoid to 6 out of 11 people in the household. A second example is the depiction of George Soper. A third example is the imprisonment of Mary on North Brother Iasland as an example. Altogether these examples make the story easier to understand.
