2 The Cat and The Fiddle Hey diddle, diddle, The cat and the fiddle, The cow jumped over the moon; The little dog laughed, To see such sport, And the dish ran away with the spoon.

4 Personification When we give human qualities to things which are not human (objects, seasons, animals etc.) The headlights blinked in the darkness. The sun smiled brightly all day. Fog crept in from the sea. The flames of the fire raced across the curtains.

5 Let's try some! Personify the sentences below. Change the words in brackets to words that would describe a human's actions: 1. My bedroom door (opened). 2. The puppy (barked) when I left for school. 3. The leaf (fell) from the tree. 4. The flashlight (went on). 5. Hair (is) on my head.
