She often uses girls that tend to have a short temper, also characters who aren't afraid to speak there mind. She tends to gravitate towards misunderstood characters. courage, kindness, and sense of honor is in her main character America.Maxon is honest and truthful. Her character Celeste is confident, knows how to use her beauty, and is willing to do anything to win, (even breaking the rules of the Selection)

4. Writing Style
Her writing style is very articulate its able to express thoughts, arguments, and ideas clearly and effectively; writing or speech is clear and easy to understand. Its epigrammatic tends to express a feeling or idea in a short and clever or funny way. Its idiomatic usually expressing things in a way that sounds natural.

5. Universal issues/themes
Power
In Illéa, all of the power is concentrated among a select few. It's concentrated in the upper castes, who are given a larger piece of the pie than regular families like the Singers. It's concentrated in the army, which maintains control over the population. And, most importantly, it's concentrated in the royal family, who call all of the shots at the end of the day. That doesn't sound too equitable to us. By the end of The Selection, however, our heroine America Singer has gone inside this powerful behemoth and lived the tale—and she might have even changed it along the way, too.
Poverty
America Singer and her family are tired of being broke. There's not much they can do about it, but there is one shred of hope: every now and then, the country holds something called The Selection, a competition in which thirty-five girls fight for the heart of the prince and, as a result, control over Illéa. And America has been Selected. Although this just seems like a way for the family to make some quick cash at first, America comes to realize that she might be able to change her country for the better and help struggling families just like hers.

6. Inspiration for writing
While reading Harry Potter she created a character for her book series The Selection. Other things that tend to inspire her is music, pictures, looking at jewelry and houses.

7. Recommend It
I deeply recommend it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting for the next move.The fun filled characters have so many different traits and personalities it's endless. It encapsulates your whole brain into the story and what is going to happen next.
