1 D & AD

2 What they do They are a professional organisation that started in 1962, it started in London and is now spread across the world. People can attend globally to show of their creativity to the world. They give awards to the best type of work in that specific sector whether its photography, film and TV, animation, advertising etc. They don’t just give out awards they are also a community of creative people because they allow the public to join by providing memberships. They are non profit organisation so the money they make from memberships goes into funding new programmes like New Blood, this is good because it gets the younger generation of people included with media and the more creative side of education rather than academic.

3 The Next Photographer Awards
This programme gathers photographers from all over the world and they enter their work into the competition, it can be any type of photography for example fashion, advertising, portrait, still life, editorial etc. 5 images can be entered and it gives you a chance to win £5000 and have your work exhibited at D&AD, a yellow pencil, meetings with professionals and many other events and opportunities that could get your work noticed by more experienced people. The entry fee is £25 and all ages are welcome however less than 50% of your income over 3 years needs to be from your own photography.

4 What does the audience want?
The audience for the Next Photographers Award would want to learn what the newest software techniques are and shooting techniques to expand their knowledge of the photography industry. If people are new they would want to learn the basics like aperture, ISO, shutter speed, depth of field etc. I also think the audience would want to know how many types of photography there are out there for example fashion, still life, landscape, nature, architecture, photojournalism, food, street, sport, portrait and many others. This would be useful so they know what types of photography there are and find what they’re most interested in. Another thing they might want to know is other famous professional photographers as they could be inspired or start developing ideas from their work.
