Totalitarianism is a modern form of Dictatorship where the Government controls every aspect of a citizen’s life.

The individual lives to serve the state All media…Books, Newspapers, Radios, etc are controlled by and glorify the state.

During the war governments had assumed sweeping powers To fight economic woes Totalitarian Politicians extended those powers further to build a model society

Two Types of Totalitarian Government Based on Why You should Serve
Fascist A type of Extreme Nationalism You serve your country out of duty to your country to make it, and thus you, great. Stalinist A “Communist” Dictatorship You serve because life should be: “From each according to their ability, to each according to their need.”

Italy, the First Fascist State
The word Fascism comes from the name of the Italian political party “Fasci di Combattimento” Which was led by Benito Mussolini. The Italian Economy was a wreck Mussolini promised to solve Italy’s Problems In 1924 He gained control of the Italian government by the brutal tactics of his “Blackshirts” and exploiting worker dissatisfaction and middle class fear of socialist revolution

The “Corporate State” Mussolini created a “Corporate State”
It was to bring the workers and employers together to solve problems Groups of workers and employers would send syndicates to represent them in the legislature and then allow the government to control factories and business In Reality the Mussolini had complete control and the legislature was his puppet.
