We need to share the success criteria and to assess what learning has taken place – to get inside the ‘black box’ (our students’ heads, Black and McWilliams, 1998)
Summative Assessment – can be efficient in providing a grade/mark/label but can be too late, if they have misunderstood.
Formative Assessment – an ongoing conversation (feedback and feed-forward too) about learning, between a student and their teacher …
