The Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM) Overview
2
SEM Mission The Society for Experimental Mechanics is composed of international members from academia, government, and industry who are committed to interdisciplinary application, research and development, education, and active promotion of experimental methods to: (a) increase the knowledge of physical phenomena; (b) further the understanding of the behavior of materials, structures and systems; and (c) provide the necessary physical basis and verification for analytical and computational approaches to the development of engineering solutions.

SEM Membership http://sem.org
If you login as an SEM Member, you get full-text electronic access to all SEM journals as well as Strain and 16 Springer journals. You can obtain contact information for SEM members or download complete or partial member lists. For example, you can download a list of everyone interested in your TD, etc. If you are not currently a member, click on the ‘join’ tab and sign up.

SEM Invites Your Membership!
Your ideas and energy are needed for SEM to continue to to progress. Talk to the individual members at your symposium to learn more. As mechanicians, you are ambassadors to the rest of the community. Let your colleagues know about SEM. You will be surprised to know that many may already be members. Finally, remember that SEM is the “Friendly Society”. Take the time to socialize, especially with students like yourselves!
