1 I Will Not Trust in My Bow Psalms 44:1-8

2 8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. (Psalm 118:8-9)

3 There are thirteen Psalms so-named Maschils:
There are eleven Psalms written specifically for the sons of Korah: Psalms 42, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 84, 85, 87, and 88.

4 11 Notwithstanding the children of Korah did not die. (Numbers 26:11)

5 The Days of Old 1 We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago. 2 With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish. (Psalms 44:1-2)

6 3 It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. 4 You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob. (Psalms 44:3-4)

7 16 at the taunts of those who reproach and revile me, because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge. (Psalm 44:16)

8 3 It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. (Psa 44:3)

9 2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. 3 I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. 4 You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. (Psalm 77:2-4)

10 10 Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. 11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. 12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” (Psalm 77:10-12)

11 2. The Present Day. 5 Through you we push back our enemies; through your name we trample our foes. 6 I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; (Psalms 44:5- 6)

12 7 but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.
8 In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever. (Psalm 44:5-8)

13 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

14 8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. (Psalm 118:8-9)

15 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through
23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
