2. What is Book Trust?
Consistency – students order books every month of the school year
Choice – students get to choose books they’re interested in and teachers get training how to help
Celebration – teachers build anticipation and excitement around the book arrivals, creating a culture of literacy in the classroom
Independent Reading – students can use their Book Trust books to read independently, both in the classroom and at home
Family Engagement – students will build a home library of up to 30 book each school year

Book Trust has served 1,056 students in Lake Pend Orielle School District so far this year.

"One title teacher decided he would build small book shelves for students to encourage them to collect and take care of their books.  We had an after school evening of painting the shelves and reading books and eating pizza.  Now many of my students have their very own book shelf to store their books.  Also at the beginning of the year, I provide those cardboard magazine holders for each child to decorate and take home so they have a place to begin their own library."
