Stoich Review

Remember 1. Always start by double checking to see if your chemical equation is balanced. 2. Identify your given and your find 3. When you get to moles, use your mole ratio from the balanced equation

Example #1 How many moles of ammonium sulfate can be made from the reaction of 30.0 moles of NH3 with H2SO4 according to the following equation: 2NH3 + H2SO4  (NH4)2SO4 **Remember start by checking to see if the equation is balanced and then write out your given and your find **When you get to moles- use your mole ratio

Example #2 How many moles of lithium chloride will be formed by the reaction of chorine with moles of Cl2 in the following reaction: 2LiBr(aq) + Cl2(g)  2LiCl(aq) + Br2(l)

Example # 3-With an elbow partner
In a very violent reaction called a thermite reaction, aluminum metal reacts with iron (III) oxide to form iron metal and aluminum oxide according to the following equation: Fe2O Al  2Fe + Al2O3 What mass of Al will react with 150g of Fe2O3? If moles of Al2O3 is produced in the reaction, what mass of Fe is produced? How many moles of Fe2O3 will react with 99.0g of Al?
