2 Web Browser A software program that allows access to the Internet.
The following are examples: Firefox Chrome Opera Explorer Safari A web browser allows me to search multiple websites using Tabs. Bookmarking allows me to save websites that I want to view later.

3 Search Engine A software program/website that allows the user to search key word(s)/data on the Internet. It provides results/links that match the search word(s). The following are examples: Google Yahoo Bing Quotes – couples the search word eliminating an either or scenario Minus symbol – eliminates words that you do not want associated with your search topic

4 Internet Safety Keep your identity a secret.
Don’t give out personal information. Show your parents which websites you visit. Be extra careful with strangers. Tell your parent/guardian if someone is making you feel uncomfortable. Protect your username and password. Be nice to people online.

5 Cyberbullying – Part 1 Cyberbullying is bullying through the Internet.
Some examples are: Texting someone a mean message. Posting lies or rumors in a blog or message board. Posting a video or picture online with the intention to embarrass someone. Harassing another person in a chat room.

6 Cyberbullying – Part 2 Cyberbullying can cause mental distress and physical pain even though no actual physical contact is made. Bullies prefer to hide their identity with online harassment. Tell an adult (someone in charge) or your parent/guardian that someone is bullying you. Save and print records of any messages, texts, etc. that you receive from a bully.

7 Copyright – Part 1 Copyrights are legal protections provided to originator of creative works. They are rights that can be enforced in a court of law. Owner has the right to: make copies and distribute work; grant permission to other people to make and sell copies; display and perform work in public; and adapt or create work that derives from original work.

8 Copyright – Part 2 Work cannot be displayed or sold by other people without permission. Ideas, concepts or procedures cannot be copyrighted. Work has to be concrete. (i.e. author who writes a book; not the idea for the story) An online picture, music, video and text can also be copyrighted.
