1. Fear can cause us to lose our souls
Fear can cause us to lose our souls. It can skew our priorities, hinder us from learning, and keep us from being profitable to our Master. Soldiers of the cross must not fear, but rather take courage in the presence and power of God.

2. There are Good and Necessary Fears
A deep and abiding respect for God (Hebrews 12:28)
The fear of losing your relationship with God (Romans 11:20)
The fear of others losing their relationship with God (2 Corinthians 11:3)

3. There are Bad Fears created by Doubt (Matthew 14:25-32)
Fear that results in wrong priorities! (Luke 12:31-34)
Fear that keeps us from learning the truth! (Luke 9:45)
Fear that keeps us from being profitable to our Master! (Matthew 25:24-26)

4. A Soldier of the Cross must not Fear
One cannot serve as a soldier in the Lord’s army and be fearful (Deut. 20:8; Judges 7:3)
David overcame fear! (1 Samuel 17)
Timothy was to be a fearless soldier (2 Timothy 1:7-8; 2:3)
Whatever we face for Him, God will be with us. (Acts 18:9-10; 2 Timothy 4:16-17; 1 John 4:4; John 16:33; Hebrews 13:6)

5. “Have I not commanded you. Be strong and of good courage;
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
