Eastern Gray Squirrel By Davy Sell
2
Introduction I was observing the Eastern Gray Squirrel, a very common species of squirrel in Virginia. Noon on July 14th In my front yard From few trees to very flat land
3
In this picture the squirrel went up a tree and had been traveling from branch to branch then stopped to stare me down for pointing a camera at it.
4
This picture has an Eastern Gray squirrel eating, possibly one of its common foods such as “hickory nuts, beechnuts, acorns, or walnuts” (Enature).
5
The squirrel I was following then began to play with another squirrel.
6
Then the squirrel began to bury the food it collected and brought to this spot in its mouth
7
My last shot is the squirrel crawling his way through one of the holes in the fence.
8
Final Summary The squirrel managed to go through a long and instinctive routine in a good half hour. He began to hide when he felt in danger, found food and ate, saved some, interacted with the other animals around it and managed to get through a fence into someone's yard. I never thought that they got so much done in such a minimal amount of time, and this really made me realize that they don’t just run around like we think they do. If you pay attention there is a method to their madness
