1 God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
Emotionally Ethically Intellectually Volitionally

2 How God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
Contrary to Calvinism, God does not change the heart by a direct operation.

3 How God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
God operates on and changes the heart through the "means" or "instrumentation" of His word.

4 How God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
When the alien sinner has completely obeyed the conditions of salvation, he is "born again" and is granted citizenship in the kingdom of God.

5 How God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5)

6 How God Operates On and Changes the Heart of Man
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 3:13-14)

7 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
The heart of the faithful kingdom citizen continues to change for the better.

8 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

9 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

10 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:12-14)

11 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
His heart continues to change for the better, in its intellectual capacity, as he continues to learn more and more of God’s word. Learning is an intellectual change.

12 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
His heart continues to change for the better, in its emotional capacity, as he grows in his love for God and others.

13 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
His heart continues to change for the better, in its ethical capacity, as he continues to heed the voice of his conscience. His ethical judgments become more and more in harmony with the word of God.

14 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
His heart continues to change for the better, in its volitional capacity, as he continues to bring his life into greater harmony with the will of God.

15 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
One needs an entire change of heart whenever he falls into sin.

16 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
The Corinthians are an example of this.

17 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
First Corinthians was very effective in changing their hearts.

18 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
It was because they needed a change of heart that Paul had delayed his return.

19 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
And in this confidence I intended to come to you before, that you might have a second benefit-- to pass by way of you to Macedonia, to come again from Macedonia to you, and be helped by you on my way to Judea.

20 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No?

21 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us--by me, Silvanus, and Timothy--was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes.

22 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

23 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth. Not that we have dominion over your faith, but are fellow workers for your joy; for by faith you stand. (2 Cor. 1:15-24)

24 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
It was in order to effect a change of heart that Paul had written First Corinthians.

25 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
But I determined this within myself, that I would not come again to you in sorrow. For if I make you sorrowful, then who is he who makes me glad but the one who is made sorrowful by me?

26 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
And I wrote this very thing to you, lest, when I came, I should have sorrow over those from whom I ought to have joy, having confidence in you all that my joy is the joy of you all.

27 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you, with many tears, not that you should be grieved, but that you might know the love which I have so abundantly for you. (2 Cor. 2:1-4)

28 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For to this end I also wrote, that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things. (2 Cor. 2:9)

29 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Paul had hoped to meet Titus in Troas to learn from him whether the Corinthians had experienced the needed changes.

30 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord, I had no rest in my spirit, because I did not find Titus my brother; but taking my leave of them, I departed for Macedonia . (2 Cor. 2:12-13)

31 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
It wasn’t until he met Titus in Macedonia that Paul learned that the Corinthians had experienced the needed change of heart.

32 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.

33 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while.

34 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

35 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

36 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication!

37 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter. (2 Cor. 7:6-11)

38 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Has your heart been sufficiently changed so that you have been born again and translated into the kingdom of God, the church?

39 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Has it continued to change for the better since that time?

40 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Have you continued to grow in knowledge of the word of God and in your love for God and His word?

41 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Are you making better ethical judgments and decisions?

42 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Are your actions now in greater harmony with the will of God than they have been in the past?

43 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
Or does your heart need to be changed again for the better?

44 How the Heart of Man Continues to Change
There is no better time than now to make that change.
