Giving examples- supporting with concrete ideas
Comparing and contrasting- the differences or similarities between 2 things

3. Introduction This is where you introduce the topic of your paper
Topic Sentence
“Attention getter”
A catch phrase
Introduce what will be in the body part of the essay
3-4 sentences

4. Body Three paragraphs/ Three ideas Each paragraph needs:
Topic sentence to introduce the idea
The information that relates to that topic sentence
Reasons, Details, Examples, Comparing and Contrasting
Elaborating on the topic/idea
At least four sentences in each paragraph

5. Conclusion The paper is coming to a close
Summarize the ideas/topic that were discussed in the body part of the essay
Similar BUT NOT THE SAME TO THE INTRODUCTION
