1 Philippians 3: 1

2 What can you see from the mountain top?
Where are you going in 2018?

3 Committed to knowing Christ (vv. 10)
experiencing God’s power sharing Christ’s suffering taking on Christ’s nature Note: “knowing” in this context means total understanding of the other person

4 How can I know Christ? (vv. 1 – 7)
connections won’t do it work and effort can’t cut it gaining Christ means losing yourself

5 Looking ahead (vv. 12) I have not yet reached my
goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize (CEV)

6 Where do I go from here? (vv. 12)
there’s still some way to go: there’ll always be room to grow keep on keeping on: “press” forward reach out: “take hold” of life (see John 10:10)

7 Bridging the gap Perseverance (keeping on) is a means by which we get closer to Christ It means not looking back but looking ahead toward Christ with single minded purpose

8 Living as God intends thanking God for His guidance in the past
recognising where God is working in us (and in the church) today looking forward with expectation: committing ourselves to walk with Him
