3. Mayans Lived in Mesoamerica
Built large cities but also had small villages that traded with each other.
Farmed maize and other crops
Architecturally sophisticated: built large stone buildings, plazas, bridges, water canals, pyramids.
Many great achievements: astronomy, math, accurate calendars, literature, art, etc.
By 900 AD mysteriously began to collapse
