Submit early, leave time for clearance and cross-clearance (if required) & abstract revision
Med Epi in Regional Teams are able to review and comment; this will help to facilitate Branch clearance

Consider and choose journals for submission carefully; consult with others; prepare the submission for the journal that is selected
In order to submit articles for scientific clearance at CDC, you must have Dual Use Research (DUR) certification and a DUR #; all RAs need DUR cert
Access DUR training thru HHS Learning Portal, search course offerings for DUR
Articles for journals are submitted for CDC clearance thru eClearance/Documentum;
Guidance on using eClearance/Documentum;
Ask Med Epi in Regional Teams to review and comment on scientific articles prior to submission for clearance; value-added
