Why should you walk to school
Not walking can harm nearly every system in a child’s body-heart and lungs, muscles and bones, kidneys and digestive tract, as well as the hormones that control blood sugar and can also take a heavy social and emotional toll. Not living a healthy life style, increases risk of diseases and disability later in life and early death.

Pollution In 2013, 21% of UK domestic greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were from transport. (This is up from 15% in 1990). 93% of the total domestic transport GHG emissions were from road transport. 54% of domestic transport GHG emissions were from cars and taxis (down from 60% in 1990); 21%; and about 13% from vans (an increase from 8% in 1990).

Help yourself and the Environment
Walk to school on Friday’s a Minimum of two bus stops. Register yourself on the WoW calendar. Encourage your friends to walk to school with you. Get off the bus one or two stops before coming to school.
