Pick ONE element from the
Periodic Table that will power
your superhero or villain.
Sign up for the element ASAP *The elements cannot be repeated – First come first serve.
Start your research about the element today.
You will have 3-4 days in class to work on this. The Project is due Thursday 12/20 at the END of class. We will have a Gallery Walk and Awards on Friday 12/21.

3. Element Superhero/Villain Project
Poster Requirements:
Picture
Colorful (looks like your element)
Creative
Age (Atomic #) and Weight (Atomic Mass)
Backstory - How they got their powers
Strengths - Describe their Superpowers in detail
Weaknesses - What will stop your character’s superpowers? Can be environmental or another element.

4. Timeline for this week Monday – Research your element
Tuesday – Develop your character
Wednesday and Thursday – Create the character sketch or 3D Model in class

5. Other info:
Your character can have a sidekick if they need it to “activate” their powers. It can also be an environmental condition (example: they react to oxygen in the air)
I will have templates of superheroes that you can trace tomorrow. I will also have aluminum foil and saran wrap that you can use for a 3D model.
You can print a character at home and bring in to class, but you have to trace it and add the details on your own. You can also bring in supplies from home for your 3D model.

The properties should be relevant to the character (describe the color, state of matter, reactivity, etc.)

7. Element Superhero/Villain Project Gallery Walk
Place your Superhero/Villain poster on your desk. Put your other stuff on the floor or counter.
Everyone will walk around the room and complete the chart on the front of your paper, as well as answer the questions on the back.
Be on the look out for who would be on your team (similar element/family) and who would be your enemy (opposite element/reacts with).
Also, vote for your favorite Superhero/Villain in the each category.
